Abstract
This study was carried out to examine the effect and cause of prison break in Nigeria. Specifically, the study examined the causes of prison breaks in Nigerian prisons. 2impact prison breaks in Nigerian prisons on security. prison infrastructure be improved and prison break can be avoided in Nigerian prisons.
The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 50 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that there are of causes of prison breaks in Nigerian prisons. Also, there are impact of prison breaks in Nigerian prisons on security. Furthermore, prison infrastructure can be improved and prison break can be avoided in Nigerian prisons.The study recommend that the basic and fundamental needs of the inmates should be provided by the government.also, Community services and other alternative dispute resurrection methods should be adopted for minor offence so as to reduce overcrowding in Nigerian prisons.
